December 7th, save the date!! THE route competition at Allez Up in Pointe-Saint-Charles is back. It's not just climbing for the pros, there will be routes for all levels. And to top it all off, we're also planning games, a dj, pizza, beers and an after-party.
It’s that time of year to say thank you and celebrate the holiday season together with Decemberfest.
If you’ve never experienced Decemberfest, it’s a friendly competition with the vibe of a major event. It’s big, but stress-free! Picture tons of prizes to win through climbing games… you get the idea.
*Please note: Accompanying persons, coaches and fans are also welcome throughout the day, including the finals. They will have free access to the gym and can come and support their favorite competitors!
Once again this year, the Decemberfest will bring together climbers of all levels in 3 categories:
CITIZEN: (5.7 to 5.10+ / top rope) for climbers who want to compete for fun without pressure. 20 routes, in scramble format - the best 5 routes will count towards the final score.
ADVANCED: (5.11 to 5.12+ / lead) for climbers who want to make it a little spicy. 2 qualifying routes - flash-format with a pre-established order - the top 6 will qualify for the final.
OPEN: (5.12 + and + / lead) for climbers who aren't at their first rodeo. 2 qualifying routes - flash-format with a pre-established order - the top 6 will qualify for the final.
Everything will be in the festive spirit, with the gym entirely reset in Christmas colors.
*PLEASE NOTE: to take part in the competition, you must be accredited with Allez UP in Top Rope (citizen only) or Lead. There will be no accreditation on the day of the event, so make sure you have done your test in advance
The finalists (6 women and 6 men) in the Advanced and Open categories with the best results in the qualifying rounds will face off on the ultimate route.
The atmosphere will be great, with a crowd of spectators + a live dj-set + the gym plunged into darkness with only the spotlight on the climbers!
Podium finishers in all 3 categories will win prizes from our partners: Arc'Teryx - La Sportiva - Black Diamond.
Decemberfest is all about bringing people together. And so that everyone can enjoy the moment and receive gifts, we've spiced up the competition with some climbing games!
Some of you will remember the classics : the Milk Crate Tower or the Gri-Gri Race! The good news is that they'll be there, but we've also got some fun and challenging new ones in store for you.
