Allez Up is proud to be hosting the 2019 CEC Lead and Speed Nationals from May 18th to 20th.
The CEC Canadian Lead and Speed National Championship is the biggest rope competition in Canada. This event will select both the Youth and Open National teams, and will be a major part in selecting the athletes who will compete internationally at the World Championships and in the 2020 Olympic Games.
Over the past few months, Canadian climbers have been competing in a series of CEC sanctioned events to earn points towards an overall score. The Lead and Speed Nationals is the final event of the 2018/2019 competition season. Athletes will be competing separately in both disciplines; both the Lead and Speed competitions will have different podiums. This format is different to the one we will be seeing at the Olympics in 2020, which will have one combined result for Lead, Speed and Bouldering.
Lead and Speed Nationals happen once a year and bring out the best sport and speed climbers in the country. This year, we are sure to see the best of the best here at Allez Up, fighting for the national title!
