The Discovery groups bring together our youngest Allez Up athletes. These teams are for those who wish to be introduced to climbing or to improve their skills. The children are exposed to all the different types of climbing that are accessible at Allez Up in a group setting that is dynamic, stimulating and safe.
Through a variety of different climbing and motor development activities practiced during the course, the children are encouraged to test their limits and learn new skills that will help them in both their climbing and the rest of their active lives. Discovery groups are also exposed to other related sports like gymnastics and parkour.
We believe that younger kids maximise their chances to discover a passion in sports if they engage in a diversity of physical activities.
As of fall 2019, Allez Up will hand out a motor ability progress report at the end of each semester. The progress report will allow to evaluate improvements in different motor and climbing skills. Improvements will lead kids to evolve through our 3 different levels of progressions.
Registration for this group can be done by semester or for the full year.
At Allez Up, we want to encourage the youths who just discovered climbing, to join our climbing community.
Development groups allow new climbers to better master climbing. Classes focus on climbing technique, sport specific strength, and calisthenics. Part of the class is also dedicated to learning lead climbing rope techniques.
As of September 2019, we will have 2 different development groups, each taking place over a single 3 hour period per week. We take into account that the same athlete might be registered in both groups.
* to register your child for both days, you will need to run two separate transactions.
The pre-competitive team brings together young motivated athletes who wish to invest more time in climbing and start competing in the local and provincial competition circuit.
Training is done in a fun, encouraging and safe group setting where the young athletes are encouraged to push themselves through a series of new challenges presented by the coaches.
The athletes of this team develop their general and climbing-specific motor skills by practicing new movements that stimulate flexibility, strength and agility.
Registration for this group must be done for the entire year. If you are interested, please contact our head coach, Philippe Bourdon.CONTACT OUR HEAD COACH
The Allez Up competitive team brings together athletes that train together in order to increase their climbing ability and eventually compete at a national level.
The rigorous training these athletes take part in covers multiple aspects. On a physical level, the athletes are encouraged to develop muscular strength, stability, motor control and flexibility. A special attention is given to injury prevention.
On a technical level, the athletes are encouraged to develop a varied and creative repertoire of moves, supported by specific vocabulary. Movement practice is at the core of our training. The athletes are also encouraged to train psychologically through a variety of specific and precise imagery and inner dialogue exercises. This part of the training is essential for the athletes to learn how to deal with competition situations.
