COACH - YOUTH AND ADVANCED GROUPS

Allez Up is looking to expand its team. We are therefore now accepting application for a part time position as a youth coach. Allez Up is looking for a highly motivated person who wants to share climbing experiences with kids and youth through the Allez Up programs.

Allez Up is committed to its community to provide high quality discovery and development programs for youth, through wich coaches will introduce our sport to a new generation of climbers.

As such, we are looking for a person with outstanding teaching and communication skills. The coach is responsible for supervising a group, and follows their growth troughout the whole season. They use and adapt the provided course plans to create an appropriate and interesting experience for their group.

This position reports to the head coach and the team coordinator. They work together to establish and meet the goals of the program.

  • Promote a positive experience for athletes and create a relationship with them.
  • Use and adapt course plans to fit with group needs.
  • Responsible for communication with parents in person, by phone, by e-mail.
  • Complete progress reports and provide feedback on athletes development at the end of each season.

REQUIRED:

  • passionate climber who is eager to share their enthusiasm for climbing with people of all ages.
  • friendly and open minded personality.
  • fluency in spoken French and English.
  • strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • experience with group supervision and management.
  • must have at least one year of climbing experience.
  • experience with teaching : previous experience in an another climbing gym, physical conditioning, or group supervision preferred.
  • ability to work autonomously.
  • facilitate problems solving and manage difficult situations with discretion.
  • ability predict and manage risks
  • passion for climbing and desire to contribute to the local climbing community.

 

PREFERRED:

  • experience and skills in bouldering, sport climbing and speed climbing.
  • experience with Rock Gym Pro Software.
  • current certifications in first aid, CPR and DEA.
  • Certified Personal Trainer.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • evening and weekend availability required.
  • confident and confortable working in a high traffic environment.
  • constantly standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and transport more than 50 pounds repetitively.
  • Ability to climb, crouch, crawl, balance and kneel.
