From October 16th to 31st, Allez UP is hosting the Level UP challenge. Here's how it works: Successfully send every boulder in a color circuit at any of our gyms in Montreal (Pointe-St-Charles - Verdun - Mile End), and you win a button that pins to your chalk bag, your backpack, your tote-bag, your crashpad, your shirt... you name it.
Come climb at Allez UP and challenge your friends, beat your objectives, push your limits, and collect as many buttons as you can.
*Watch out! After a reset, you must climb the new boulder in the color circuit to win a button!
The Level UP challenge is not just an excuse to cover your chalkbag with colorful buttons - it's also our way of showing off our color-coded circuit system for grading boulders. Yes, at Allez UP (and our sister-gyms accros Canada), each boulder is assigned a color, rather than a numbered V-grade 1 deposit casino canada.com .
Why? Too often (especially with the V-grade system) we focus on the "hardest" numerical grade we can climb, to the detriment of our climbing as a whole. In our circuit system, the colors overlap deliberately to offer a broader assessment of individual progress, and make it easier to overcome the psychological hang-ups associated with numerical rating.
Our aim is to encourage all climbers to try as many problems as possible without worrying about their difficulties, in order to tackle different climbing styles ans become complete, confident climbers. We owe this reflection to the observation of you, of community, and the desire to take you as far as possible in your passion for climbing.
