TEAM COORDINATOR (AND YOUTH RECREATIONAL AND ADVANCED GROUPS COACH)

Allez Up is looking to expand its team. We are therefore now accepting applications for a part time position as a team coordinator and youth coach. Allez Up is looking for a highly motivated person who wants to share climbing experiences with kids and youth through the Allez Up programs.

Allez Up is committed to its community to provide high quality discovery and development programs for youth, through which coaches will introduce our sport to a new generation of climbers.

As such, we are looking for a person with outstanding teaching and communication skills. The coach is responsible for supervising a group, and follows their growth throughout the whole season. They use and adapt the provided course plans to create an appropriate and interesting experience for their group.

The coach is also responsible for managing the administrative aspects of the Introduction to Competition (Division 3) team, including programming and managing the competition schedule.

This position reports to the head coach and the assistant head coach. They work together to establish and meet the goals of the program.

  • Responsible for developing training programs and lesson plans for the Introduction to Competition (D3) team.
  • Manage the competition-related aspects of the team, including creating the competition schedule, supporting coaches and athletes at events, and leading communications related to competitions and events.
  • Support the Head Coach and Assistant Head Coach with long-term projects, such as developing exercise libraries and streamlining administrative processes.
  • Promote a positive experience for athletes and create a relationship with them.
  • Use and adapt course plans to fit with group needs.
  • Responsible for communication with parents in person, by phone, or by email in the case of behavioral concerns.
  • Complete progress reports and provide feedback on athletes development at the end of each season.
  • Ensure that participants follows all of the security procedures and that their actions create a safe environment for participants, clients, and employees.

REQUIRED:

  • Experience in teaching and customer service.
  • Sports program management, gymnastics, swimming, soccer or others.
  • Previous climbing gym experience a plus.
  • Good knowledge of fitness techniques.
  • Experience in personnel management or team leadership.
  • Must have a great enthusiasm for climbing.
  • Passionate climber, with a willingness to share enthusiasm for the sport with people of all ages.
  • Ability to manage and train coaches on program expectations.
  • Experience in bouldering, sport, and speed climbing disciplines.
  • Excellent communication skills in person, by e-mail and by telephone.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Work independently.
  • Facilitate problem solving and handle difficult situations.
  • Proficiency in organizational tools such as web applications, MS Office,Google Drive and point-of-sale tools.
  • Administrative excellence: organized and goal-oriented.
  • Keen observation skills for risk management.

 

PREFERRED:

  • experience with Rock Gym Pro Software.
  • current certifications in first aid, CPR and DEA.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Responsibilities and time are divided between work shifts and administrative tasks.
  • Minimum requirement of four shifts per week, including one weekend day.
  • Evening and weekend availability.
  • Confident and comfortable working in a high-traffic environment.
  • Constant standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Ability to climb, crouch, crawl, balance and kneel.
