Allez Up is looking for a coach to manage our junior program. We are now accepting applications for the full-time Head Coach position.


Our passion is to share the benefits of climbing with children and young people through the programs of Allez Up. The Youth Program Manager works to support programs and enable coaches to introduce our sport to the next generation of climbers.


As such, we are looking for someone who can stand out for their teaching and communication skills and who has excellent administrative skills. The Head Coach oversees many programs and is responsible for overseeing the registration process and managing the part-time coaching staff. This is a full-time position that requires some schedule flexibility and some availability on weekends.


The head coach will be called upon to prepare training, follow competitive athletes and be present at competitions. This position reports to the General Manager. They work together to establish and achieve company goals.

    Develops the training and physical preparation of our athletes.

    Prepares and establishes the registration of youth programs of Allez Up.

    Provides communication to parents in person, by phone and or by email.

    Coordinates itinaries, schedules, events and general youth program needs.

    Hires, schedules, trains and manages coaches for youth programs.

    Aims for performance objectives and respects company budget guidelines.

    Oversees summer camp registration and administration

    Manages summer camp, the hiring and training of summer camp staff, and the ongoing management of camp staff during the summer.

    Ensure that all coaches and participants follow all safety procedures and that their actions create a safe environment for participants, guests and staff.


Experience in people management or team leadership.

Must have at least 4 years of climbing experience and show great enthusiasm for climbing.

Solid customer service and teaching experience; previous climbing gym, fitness or animation experience preferred.

Passionate climber, willing to share his enthusiasm for the sport with people of all ages.

Ability to manage and train coaches on program expectations and climbing techniques.

Experience in the disciplines of bouldering, sport climbing and trad climbing preferred.

Excellent communication skills in person, by email and by telephone.

A strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

Through his leadership, the person is able to promote the development of staff and their sense of belonging.

Work independently.

Facilitate problem solving and manage difficult situations with discernment.

Proficiency in organizational tools such as web applications, MS Office, Google Drive and point of sale tools.

Administrative excellence: being organized and focused on the objectives to be achieved.

Acute sense of observation for risk management.

Be passionate about climbing and want to integrate and build the local climbing community.



Experience with Rock Gym Pro software

Current certifications in first aid, CPR and DEA.



Responsibilities and time are shared between shifts and administrative duties.

Minimum requirement of four shifts per week, including one weekend day.

Availability evenings and weekends.

Confident and comfortable working in a high traffic environment.

Constantly standing and walking for long periods of time.

Ability to repeatedly lift, push, pull and carry over 50 lbs.

Ability to climb, crouch, crawl, balance and kneel.
