HEADCOACH

Allez Up is looking for a Head Coach to manage junior and adult programs and private training. We are now accepting applications for the full-time Head Coach position.

 

The main objective of our climbing program is to create a framework that aims first and foremost at the development of athletes and clients. We aim to teach them the skills to be successful in climbing, to be safe in the center, while having fun.

 

As such, we are looking for someone who can stand out for their teaching and communication skills and who has excellent administrative skills. The Head Coach oversees many programs and is responsible for overseeing the registration process and managing the part-time coaching staff. This is a full-time position that requires some schedule flexibility and some availability on weekends.

 

The head coach will be called upon to prepare training, follow competitive athletes and be present at competitions. This position reports to the General Manager. They work together to establish and achieve corporate goals.

- Supervises and develops the training plan as well as the physical preparation of our athletes.

- Prepares and establishes program registration.

- Ensures communication with parents in person, by telephone and or by email, but benefits from the assistance of a coordinator.

- Coordinates routes, schedules, events and general youth program needs.

- Hires, schedules, trains, develops and manages coaches for all programs.

- Ensure that all coaches and participants follow all safety procedures and that their actions create a safe environment for participants, guests and staff.

- Aims for performance objectives and respects company budget guidelines.

- Manages summer camp, the hiring and training of summer camp staff and the ongoing management of camp staff during the summer.

 

REQUIRED

- Teaching and customer service experience.

- Sports program management, gymnastics, swimming, soccer or others

- Previous experience in a climbing gym is a plus,

- Good knowledge of physical conditioning techniques.

- Experience in people management or team leadership.

- Must have great enthusiasm for rock climbing.

- Passionate climber, willing to share his enthusiasm for the sport with people of all ages.

- Ability to manage and train coaches on program expectations.

- Experience in the disciplines of bouldering, sport climbing.

- Excellent communication skills in person, by email and by telephone.

- A strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

- Work independently.

- Facilitate problem solving and manage difficult situations with discernment.

- Proficiency in organizational tools such as web applications, MS Office, Google Drive and point of sale tools.

- Administrative excellence: being organized and focused on the objectives to be achieved.

- Acute sense of observation for risk management.

- Current certifications in first aid, CPR and DEA.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Responsibilities and time are shared between shifts and administrative duties.

- Minimum requirement of four shifts per week, including one weekend day.

- Availability evenings and weekends.

- Confident and comfortable working in a high traffic environment.

- Constantly standing and walking for long periods of time.

- Ability to climb, crouch, crawl, balance and kneel.
