HEADSETTER

Allez Up is looking to expand its team of route setters. We are therefore now accepting applications for the position of full-time Headsetter. Allez Up is looking for highly motivated, dynamic and creative people to lead the route setting team.

Setters are responsible for creating and maintaining the excellence of the core product of Allez Up.

 

As such, we are looking for a Headsetter who is passionate about creating movement and enthusiastic about creating quality routes and blocks. Climbing at Allez Up must be fluid, universally appreciated and adapted to the needs of our members and our guests. The Headsetter reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for managing the workflow, efficiency and productivity of his team.

  • Planifie les “resets” hebdomadaires de blocs et voies

  • Créer des expériences de mouvement réfléchies et variées tout en respectant les normes de setting d’Allez Up.

  • Assurer une variété et diversité de mouvements dans l’ensemble du centre

  • Travailler en collaboration avec l'équipe, en traçant des voies/blocs dans les limites de votre capacité d'escalade.

  • Grimper et tester les voies/blocs en fournissant un retour d'informations clair et constructif à vos pairs

  • Modifier au besoin les voies/blocs selon les commentaires de l’équipe

  • Maintenir un espace de travail propre et organisé en tout temps.

  • Faire respecter les normes sécurité de travail en hauteur.

  • Gérer l'inventaire des prises d’escalade et de l’équipement d’ouverture

  • Planifier les achats de prises annuels

  • Entretien des installations et vérifier l’équipement de sécurité sur les murs

  • Gérer efficacement  le temps de l’équipe et respecter les quotas quotidiens établis

  • Encadrer les ouvreurs, nouveaux et existants, pour les aider à se développer d'une manière positive et en accord avec les valeurs fondamentales d’Allez Up

  • Promouvoir une expérience client positive

  • Établir des relations avec les membres et les invités

REQUIRED

Excellent communicator

Team management experience

Ability to identify and develop the talents of future setters.

Have a sense of observation

Friendly personality, open-minded character

Be able to seek and accept, as well as give critical feedback in a professional manner

Experience in a similar or relevant field

A strong work ethic and positive attitude

Strong passion for climbing

Understanding climbing moves up to 5.13 and V9

 

FAVORITED

Skills in the disciplines of bouldering, sport climbing and traditional climbing

Rope work and knowledge of safety maneuvers

Experience in opening commercial routes and boulders

Understanding of climbing competitions

License to drive a forklift and aerial work platform

 

ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Availability during the day

The employee frequently performs work at height using climbing equipment, rigging and/or ladders.

In the performance of his duties, the employee must frequently go up and down stairs.

Constantly standing and walking for long periods of time

Ability to repeatedly lift, push, pull and carry over 50 lbs.

Climb, pull, crouch, crawl, balance and kneel

The employee is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment when performing applicable duties
