A ROPE CLIMBING MARATHON TO REACH EVEREST?

MAY 1st – MAY 29th

You’re a climber, but that doesn’t mean you do mountaineering or ice climbing! Still, there’s always that one person who asks: “Oh, you climb… so when are you going to climb Everest?” But let’s be honest—climbing plastic in a gym has nothing to do with Everest.

But have you ever wondered how many times you’d have to climb a gym route to reach the height of Everest? We have! It would take 590 routes—and that’s exactly the challenge of our event: Up the Wall.

Climbing 8,848 meters isn’t easy, so just like any expedition, you’ll need a solid team. An ascent like that doesn’t happen in one day: you’ll have a full month to rack up as much elevation as you can with your team and try to reach the top of the world.

10 GOALS / +4 CHALLENGES

10 GOALS

Climbing Everest doesn’t happen all at once. You need time to get there, to acclimatize, and most importantly, to save enough energy to reach the top. So to give everyone a shot at the summit, there are checkpoints: ten stages between the start in Kathmandu and the final ascent. And since we know climbing isn’t always easy, we’ve also prepared some refuel kits to give you a boost when you need it most—plus prizes all along the way.

WEEKLY CHALLENGES

There’s something new for the 2025 edition of Up the Wall. Every week, we’ll introduce a new challenge! Every Thursday, we’ll announce the challenge for the upcoming week. Weeks will run from Thursday to Wednesday, inclusive. Some challenges will be solo, some team-based, and they’ll help you rack up extra meters and win cool prizes. All details will be posted on the website and Allez Up’s platforms.

BASE CAMP PARTY – MAY 1st / 5pm

Don’t want to waste a second before kicking off your climb and reaching your goals? Join us on Thursday, May 1st from 5pm at Pointe-Saint-Charles for the Base Camp Party.

The concept is simple: just like the start of a marathon, we’re inviting you and your team to kick off the event with a pre-race gathering featuring a SCARPA shoe demo, an Allez UP SHOP activation, a LULULEMON space, NAÄK snacks, GUTSY kombucha, a MAMMUT booth, and a little party with a “starting line.”

CREATE MY TEAM AND SIGN UP

Create your team and take on the mountain with your partners.

The ideal team is made of 4 climbers, but if you prefer to take on the challenge with two or three, that works too. What really matters is the team spirit and the motivation. Each climber goes at their own pace, but the adventure is always a collective one.

So, who will you rope in for your ascent?

*if you want more info, check out the FAQ just below.

UP THE WALL starts on May 1st — you’ll be able to register your team from now until May 18th. Please note: your climbs will only be counted after you've registered and the event has begun.

BONUS: you don’t want to miss the kickoff night during the BASE CAMP PARTY on May 1st at Pointe-Saint-Charles — so sign up as soon as you can!

If fate plays tricks on your team (injury, illness, or even disappearance), you have until end of the first week to adjust your team. The results of the new member(s) are transferable, but only during the first week (up to and including May 8).

If you come accros a solo climber or a duo motivated to join your team (after the first week) here's the deal: You can add a new member - but, beware, all results previously accumulated by the new member(s) will be reset to zero.

If you want to merge 2 teams, the sentence will be the same - only one team's points will be kept.

No problem. If there are 3 of you and one teammate is missing, just sign up and come back later to add the last climber. Just make sure to use the same team name. Our team can complete the update. If there’s no update after a few days, write to us at [email protected].

If you’re looking for teammates or want to join a team, head over to the Facebook group Allez Up Community. It’s the best place to find partners — just like for your regular climbing sessions.

The Base Camp Party is on May 1st from 5PM at Pointe-Saint-Charles. We’ve planned lots of little gifts and perks for all the climbers who come to meet us.

You were missing just one thing to complete your gear – luckily, it wasn’t too hard to find.

Stop by Kathmandu (1,400m), then come to the front desk to collect your Allez UP chalk cube.

*1 per climber – while supplies last.

The flight to Lukla (2,800m) was majestic but still quite exhausting! A little energy shot wouldn't hurt.

Come by the reception to pick up your energy kit: 1 GUTSY kombucha + 1 jujube.

*Per person. Snacks are non-transferable. While supplies last.

After a few days of hiking, you've finally arrived at Namche Bazaar (3,445m) – you can now spot Everest, and most importantly, it's time for you to complete your team.

Come pick up the first 3 stickers of your adventure.

*1 pack per climber. Limited quantities – first come, first served.

You've just arrived at Pheriche (4,280m) - you're really starting to feel the altitude, but that's perfect. You're continuing your acclimatization and, most importantly, taking the time to check your physical condition before starting the "real" ascent.

Come to the front desk to collect 1 Allez UP day pass + 1 free coffee.

*Per person. Snacks are not interchangeable. While supplies last.

Everest Base Camp (5,364m) is the last rest stop you'll have access to before… coming back here after your climb! Now’s the time to enjoy it, take a moment, and rest up a little.

It’s your last chance to grab a snack before the expedition begins – head to the front desk to pick up your $20 gift card for BKIND.

*One per person. While supplies last.

By crossing the Khumbu Icefall (6,050m), you’ve just made it through one of the most dangerous parts of your journey. Between giant crevasses and hanging ladders – it was an intense moment.

Your team and you deserve a break, a breather, and stickers 4-5-6 of your ascent.

*1 pack per climber. Limited quantities – first come, first served.

The calm after the storm. You are now in the Western Cwm (6,400m), also known as the “Valley of Silence”. You’re moving slowly, everything around you is eerily quiet – the sun is blazing and burning your skin.

Come see us at the front desk to pick up your kit: a 1 snack NAAK and 1 free Allez UP smoothie card.

*One per person. Snacks are not interchangeable. While supplies last.

You’ve reached the base of the Lhotse Face (7,200m) – a massive ice wall with a 40–50 degree incline standing right in front of you. Your crampons and the fixed ropes will help you ascend this challenging section.

Once at the top, come grab stickers 7 & 8 at the front desk.

*1 pack per climber. Limited quantities – first come, first served.

Camp 4 – the Death Zone (7,900m), you've made it! From this point on, there’s no room for error and every minute counts. This is where your mindset must take over from your body – to keep your spirits high, come pick up your Up The Wall 2025 t-shirt + the sticker n°9.

*1 t-shirt per climber. Limited quantities – first come, first served.

CONGRATULATIONS! You’ve just reached the Summit of Everest (8,848m) – all your efforts have led you to enjoy the most stunning view you’ve probably ever seen in your life! Take it all in, but don’t stay too long, you still have to descend.

Once you reach the base, you and your team will be able to enjoy a Physical Assessment with a certified coach + the sticker n°10.

*1 assessment per team – conditions apply.
