SENIOR COACH

Allez Up is looking for a coach to manage the junior programs. We are now accepting applications for the part-time position of Senior Coach. The Senior Coach is essential to ensure the quality of the introduction to competition, development and recreational programs, while providing ongoing support to the other coaches and ensuring the consistency of the programs with Allez Up's values.

The main objective of our climbing program is to create a framework that focuses first and foremost on athlete and customer development. We aim to teach them the skills they need to succeed in climbing, be safe in the center, while having fun.

As such, we're looking for someone with excellent teaching, communication and administrative skills.

  • Introduction to competition - development - recreational team coach
  • Develops and supervises the training and physical preparation of our athletes.
  • Develops session plans for the introduction to competition/development/recreative groups, aligned with the athletes' progression objectives.
  • Participates in the development of long-term program planning with the head coach.
  • Participates in the development of an athlete report card.
  • Adjusts training plans to prepare athletes for competition periods and optimize their performance.
  • Manages the competition calendar and coordinates athlete participation, ensuring the necessary preparations.
  • Ensures communication with parents and athletes, sending regular updates and answering questions.
  • Present during competitions, providing technical and mental support during events.
  • Assists the head coach with administrative tasks.
  • Hires, trains and supports program coaches, providing ongoing mentoring.
  • Ensures that all coaches and participants follow safety procedures, maintaining a safe environment.

REQUIRED:

  • Experience in teaching and customer service.
  • Sports program management, gymnastics, swimming, soccer or others.
  • Previous climbing gym experience a plus.
  • Good knowledge of fitness techniques.
  • Experience in personnel management or team leadership.
  • Must have a great enthusiasm for climbing.
  • Passionate climber, with a willingness to share enthusiasm for the sport with people of all ages.
  • Ability to manage and train coaches on program expectations.
  • Experience in bouldering, sport, and speed climbing disciplines.
  • Excellent communication skills in person, by e-mail and by telephone.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Work independently.
  • Facilitate problem solving and handle difficult situations.
  • Proficiency in organizational tools such as web applications, MS Office,Google Drive and point-of-sale tools.
  • Administrative excellence: organized and goal-oriented.
  • Keen observation skills for risk management.

 

PREFERRED:

  • experience with Rock Gym Pro Software.
  • current certifications in first aid, CPR and DEA.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Responsibilities and time are divided between work shifts and administrative tasks.
  • Minimum requirement of four shifts per week, including one weekend day.
  • Evening and weekend availability.
  • Confident and comfortable working in a high-traffic environment.
  • Constant standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Ability to climb, crouch, crawl, balance and kneel.
