CLIMBING 101

This is the course you will need to be able to climb ropes.

You'll learn the proper knot, safe belay technique as well as how to put on your harness. Most importantly, you'll practice proper catching and belaying under the supervision of a qualified instructor in a safe setting.

AUTO-BELAY

The Trublue initiation will allow you to use our auto-belays.

What is an auto-belay? It is a system that allows you to climb safely at heights without having to take the Climbing 101 course.

Initiations are available every day between 10am and 5pm. Please call 514- 989-9656 for more information.

Please note that anyone under the age of 16 must be accompagnied by an adult while using the auto-belays. Minors 16 and over may use the auto-belays without supervision only if they have a top rope accreditation at Allez Up.

BOULDERING

Bouldering is a discipline of rock climbing that does not involve ropes. The walls are much smaller and climbers fall on mats instead of being attached to ropes.

A course is not required to boulder at Allez Up, so it's a great way to try climbing for the first time.

If you would like to learn the basics of bouldering, we suggest our Bouldering 101 course, which includes 7 days of unlimited bouldering + equipment rental during that time!

STEP 2: GET ACCREDITED

After taking your Climbing 101 course, it's time to become an autonomous accredited member!

THE ACCREDITATION

Before you can climb in the gym, you will need to obtain your accreditation.

The accreditation is earned by passing a hands-on test in which you prove to our staff that you are able to use the equipment, tie knots, belay safely and communicate effectively with your climber.
